Pink Programming to work with Skånes Energy sector

September 11, 2026

Pink Programming is teaming up with Region Skåne to connect more women and non-binary people with opportunities within the energy sector in order to shape Skåne’s green transition.

As the electrification of Skåne accelerates, the energy sector is facing a growing need for technical talent. Together with Region Skåne, Pink Programming is now launching a project with the aim to build a series of events connecting the energy sector with our network of women and non-binary developers and other tech professionals, widening the talent pool needed for the transition.

“To make electrification possible, the energy sector needs to broaden its image of who could become a future employee. We need to create more ways in and more opportunities for people to discover what the energy sector has to offer. One of the ways to address this is by working with Pink Programming, an organisation with established networks and experience in reaching people with technical and digital skills, particularly women and non-binary people.”
– AnnaJohanna Leo, Business Development Officer at Region Skåne.

Through networking events, coding workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, we will bring together the energy sector representatives and the Pink Programming community members.

“Whether curious about a new industry or actively looking for their next job, this is a chance for our community to explore new career paths, build their network and learn about the opportunities within energy. It is also a big opportunity for energy companies to strengthen their employer brand, increase their visibility and gain new perspectives on how to attract, engage and recruit future employees.”
– Andrea Arvidsson, Managing Director Pink Programming.

The first event takes place on October 14th in Malmö – more details coming soon. Does your company work in the energy sector and want to be a part of the project? Reach out to us!

The initiative is carried out by Pink Programming with funding from Region Skåne, as part of the programme Kompetensförsörjning för Skånes Elektrifiering. Read the news piece from Region Skåne here (in Swedish).
