What we expect from you as a volunteer
We are incredibly happy to receive high interest from people who want to volunteer with us. What we look for from our volunteers are:
- That you are an ambassador for Pink Programmings’ mission and values, and take part in creating a positive and inclusive environment.
- That you are prepared to commit to the volunteer position for at least a year (if not, you are still able to apply but please inform us of your availability in the application).
- That you stay in the loop with planning and team communication through attending meetings and checking in on our Slack-channels at least once a week.
- Communication is key! As is the nature of volunteer roles, we do understand that unforeseen things happen and that circumstances might change. As long as you let us know, we can always solve situations and plan accordingly.
Open positions:
Event Manager – Stockholm
As an Event Manager, you have the shared overall responsibility for the public Pink Programming-events in your city together with the other Event Manager (there are two Event Managers/city). Events are typically on weekday evenings (After Works) and on Sundays (Pink Sundays) – but there might be exceptions and new formats, which require flexibility! We do approximately one event/month. You will also have a team of Code Mentors, Communications Volunteers and Workshop Leaders. You will be working closely with the Pink Office and the Event Managers in the other cities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the event team: call for meetings and communicate with your team members.
- Keep track of planning and deadlines for the event season.
- Coordinate volunteers, tasks and responsibilities for all events (on average one event/month).
- Be in touch with event sponsors and plan the event content together with them, serving as a bridge between the sponsor and the event team.
- Help to build/develop the event concept together with the other Event Managers.
- Representing Pink Programming and being the “face” of the organisation during the events.
We are looking for someone who wants to engage, motivate and inspire team members into doing a great job! If you have previous experience in events and project management, that’s a great bonus.
Time commitment: 8-14 h/month
Communications Volunteer – All cities
As a communications volunteer, you’ll capture the magic of our events through photos, short video clips, and engaging text. You’ll share the excitement in real-time on Instagram while also gathering content for our channels after the event.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking photos and video clips at the events.
- Posting on Pink Programming’s Instagram Stories during the event.
- Writing summaries of the events for us to use in our channels after the event.
- Convey the Pink spirit and reach more people through storytelling!
Since our communication is in English, proficiency in the language is required.
Time commitment: 4-8h/month
Event Coordinator – All cities
The event coordinator is a helping hand to the Event Managers. You will not be responsible for the full events, but you will help out with smaller tasks on the actual event day!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Check in participants
- Manage event execution – from preparation to cleanup
- Helping the team and participants on site, making sure everything runs smoothly
Your tasks might vary depending on what is needed for this particular event. This role will suit you who consider yourself to be a doer and that finds joy in coordinating and making sure everything meets the expectations of our participants.
Time commitment: 4-8h/month
Code Mentor – All cities
As a Code Mentor, you’ll be a key support for participants – helping them when they get stuck, answering coding questions, and even leading workshops if you want – in a programming language you know well.
Your responsibilities include:
- Support participants by guiding, unblocking, and encouraging them in their coding journey.
- Be a programming advocate – sharing knowledge and fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Create or lead workshops with help from your team (optional).
- Opportunity to join our coding Camps as a teacher/Camp Mentor if you’re interested.
Time commitment: 4–8 hours/month.
Social Team Volunteer – All cities
The Social Team plans internal events for all Pink members and volunteers. It’s a perfect fit if you love bringing people together, creating great experiences, and spreading positive energy! The Social Team unites the organisation and make sure we stay engaged, connected, and inspired.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and organising fun and meaningful internal events.
- Manage event execution – from preparation to cleanup
- Coordinate logistics like venue setup, food, and activities.
- Ensure a welcoming atmosphere where everyone has a great time.
We aim to host roughly 3-4 internal events per year. If you’re passionate about creating memorable experiences, we’d love to have you on board!
