Changing the narrative of who can, should and want to be a programmer is in the core of what Pink Programming do. For the project Programming For the Future, the organization has reached teenagers and young adults, aged 15-25, to introduce programming for younger people  in Skåne – with a successful outcome.

To present the wide range of possibilities programming has to offer, the project Programming For the Future has contained a variety of activities such as coding workshops and meeting female professionals working as developers and engineers. With support from Sparbanksstiftelsen Finn, Pink has reached youths in Skåne teaming up with Hemgården, as well as WILMA, a mentorship programme of female leaders at Lund University to spark curiosity for tech in the region. 

The idea to bridge the gap between a having a tech interest into actually exploring what a tech career is all about turned out to be a huge success, with great satisfaction among the attending youths:

– 100% of all participants at the event at Hemgården claimed they wanted to continue coding after the event, and the attendees of the event at Lund University all rated the experience 5/5, which of course makes us super happy and proud, says Andrea Arvidsson, Managing Director of Pink Programming.
