Join Pink Programming as our interim Communications & Community Lead!

April 29, 2025

Pink Programming is Sweden’s biggest community for developers that are women and non-binary, with the mission of a gender-equal tech industry. Over the past ten years we’ve grown into a trusted changemaker and connector between civil society and the tech industry – creating space, sparking collaboration and driving inclusion forward.

We’re now on the lookout for an interim Communications & Community Lead to join us during a parental leave. You will be stepping into a vibrant organisation during an exciting time, with the main mission to keep our community thriving and our message loud and clear in the tech industry and beyond.

Pink Programming works hands-on with inspiration, community building and education, from Pink Sunday coding meetups and summer camps to DEI education and long-term partnerships with some of Sweden’s leading tech companies. Through our events and vibrant community for connection, we support women and non-binary developers at every stage of their journey, all while helping companies become more inclusive workplaces.

Pink Programming is rooted in a feminist and intersectional approach to change. We believe in addressing structural barriers and outdated norms by actively creating the environments we want to see in the tech industry and society as a whole.

Our non-profit organisation is built up from a passionate board, a force of one hundred engaged and active volunteers across the country, hundreds of members and a team of 3 employees at the HQ in Malmö.

What we offer

  • A mission-driven workplace – meaningful work at the intersection of tech, inclusion and civil society
  • Supportive work culture – a close-knit team that values creativity, collaboration and kindness
  • Collective agreement – including insurance and occupational pension
  • Wellness allowance – to support your health and well-being
  • Remote flexibility – possibility to work from home 1–2 days per week

Focus areas for the role

Communications Lead
Responsible for managing Pink Programming’s external communication in line with our overall strategy and key focus areas – ensuring an impactful and inspiring voice across all channels. Tasks include planning and producing content such as campaigns, social media posts, newsletters, and website updates. You’ll also contribute to strengthening our public presence and industry visibility by representing the organisation in relevant forums and maintaining partner relations.

The role comes with a high degree of ownership, and you’ll work closely with our event- and communication coordinator, who supports in operational tasks such as event communication. Some administrative and reporting tasks are also part of the role – for example contributing to organisational follow-ups, analysis and documentation.

Community Management
Leading and developing the community of volunteers and members across the country. The role involves maintaining strong relationships to ensure continued engagement and empowerment. Tasks include recruiting, onboarding and engaging volunteers, coordinating teams and meetings, and managing internal communication, activities and events within the community.

10-year anniversary                                                                                                                                     In 2025, Pink Programming celebrates 10 years of coding, community and change! This milestone will be an exciting theme throughout the year, and part of the role will involve supporting anniversary-related communications and events (for example implementing our new graphic profile)– engaging the community and our partners in celebrating a decade of impact.

Additional contributions
As a small and flexible organisation, tasks can occasionally shift based on needs, opportunities, and team members skills and potential. We strive to find a good match where we tailor the role to suit both the person hired and the organisation’s current needs. In addition to the main focus areas, there may be room to contribute in other forms, such as supporting project development or strengthening internal ways of working. These responsibilities are not core to the role, but can be adapted based on individual skills and experience.
