Join the Pink Programming Board for 2025

Are you eager to put your strategic expertise to work for gender equality in tech? We are now seeking new board members for Pink Programming to actively contribute to shaping the path towards a gender-equal tech industry.

Pink Programming is Sweden’s biggest community for programmers who are women and non-binary, with a mission to achieve gender equality in the tech industry. As a non-profit, the organization creates inspiring coding and networking events for both experienced developers and those curious about tech. Collaborating with companies and the public sector, the organization also offers DE&I courses to companies, driving meaningful change in tech. With a team of 3 employees, a board, 200 members, 100 volunteers, and a vibrant community of thousands, Pink Programming strives to build a more inclusive and diverse tech landscape.

  • Have relevant experience for the assignment, preferably from working with (non-profit) organisations, companies and or/board work

Bonus point if you also

  • Are well-connected and have a broad network in the tech industry and beyond
  • Are familiar with the structure and regulations of Swedish associations

We expect from our board members to

  • Have a good understanding of the organization’s vision and ongoing activities to be able to guide the organisation at a strategic level
  • Contribute to strategic, financial and organizational decisions to move the organisation forward without losing sight of the core mission.
  • Be a good representative for the board and the overall organisation towards stakeholders, community and industry
  • Contribute to good board dynamics and a constructive team collaboration and support other board members
  • Work on assigned projects and processes within the board
  • Dedicate a minimum of 10-15 h/month towards board work
  • Attend morepart of the board meetings and meetups throughout the year (currently run on a monthly basis)

We acknowledge that everyone’s set of experiences is unique and might not fit exactly all the listed above qualifications. Experience in tech is not required, but welcomed. We encourage you to apply if you believe your skills are transferable and relevant.

About the Pink Programming board

Besides the Annual Meeting where members exercise their voting rights, The Board is the organization’s highest decision-making body. The Board is recruited by the Election Committee and elected by the members present at the Annual Meeting. The board meets regularly during the year and operates at a strategic level to ensure Pink Programming is working in accordance with policy and towards the overall aim and direction.

All board positions are (re)elected annually. The electable positions in the Pink Programming board are the following:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary
  • Ordinary Board Member
  • Alternate Board Member

Chair and Secretary are expected to be fluent in Swedish to be able to help with policy documents and grant applications. Other board members are not required to speak Swedish.

Timeline

  • Application deadline is December 20, 2024.
  • Interviews will be held continuously and nominated candidates will be notified in February at the latest.
  • The election takes place at the annual meeting on March 15th

The applications are open and we are looking for women (cis and trans) and people with non-binary gender identities, from diverse backgrounds of culture, ethnicity, age, professional experience and education to join us.
