Last Friday was the award ceremony for the prestigious Diversity Index Award, and guess what? We won in the gender category!

Dorka Schattmann was already debating whether to make a career change when she attended her first coding event with Pink. Halfway through her master’s degree in law and with an internship in the European Parliament on her resumé, the event came and changed everything.

Back in 2015, three women working within development had grown tired of the lack of female colleagues. To solve the problem, they started hosting coding events to bring women, non-binary and transgender people together. It did not take long until they were overwhelmed by the amount of people that wanted to join the event.

Sedan starten 2015 har Pink Programming anordnat kodträffar, läger och utbildningar för över 6000 kvinnor och icke-binära personer i landet. Efter att ha drivit organisationen helt digitalt under 18 månader av pandemi är Pink Programmings populära kodträffar “Pink Programming Sundays” äntligen tillbaka i fysisk form. I samband med nypremiären flyttar organisationen till startuphuset Minc i Malmös, och stärker samtidigt upp teamet med nyrekrytering.
